Once again, all the families and tutors in coordination with Aspire got together to give the students another amazing holiday party. After the last event, we had a great showing in attendance and the party games went off without a hitch. Many enjoyed and it was a great way to end the fantastic year we had. A lot of the students were very excited to be coming back in the New Year thanks to the wonderful experience they had at the Christmas Party. I hope all the students enjoy the lovely gifts that Aspire provided!

In November I attended a lesson in how children react to social cue's. What I took was something natural, I was surprised to find that a lot of children cannot develop social cue's and reactions on their own. This video lecture showed several different ways kids can experience social deficiencies and offered lessons on how parents and teachers can help children develop their social skills. I would recommend this video to young parents and other educators.
I attended a workshop with some of the teachers at my school placement. We spoke about bullying prevention, ways in which students can keep calm and retain their focus through a long day of class and the importance of safety within their school environment. I was offered a lot of new ideas and acted as a sponge as my mentors spoke about their experiences and offered recommendations. I look forward to the next few school climate meetings.
Attendance for the Halloween event was exceptional. Everyone was able to come together and have fun celebrating the event with fun activities. It was nice to have my students and tutors really get to know each other and bond over Halloween treats and compare their Halloween costumes. I really look forward to running an event similar to this again! Some of the students can be so creative! Check out this spooky looking bat one student made. Looks like Iron Man is experimenting with Halloween technology! Great job guys!
The children love Halloween and having activities that provoke their creativity and promote the holiday for them is a win-win. I love hearing how excited the children are for something. I look forward to the winter holidays when the students get all geared up for the Christmas holidays!
